I switched this year from technical project manager to IT/Cloud architect. I am very happy with this new role and I think it suits me better. I also passed GCP Professional Architect certification.
Coding agents are a real deal. When I saw Cursor agent mode beginning of this year, I even stopped my current consulting mission to go back developing features for Track App.
Despite most analysts saying we reached a "plateau," LLM models performance is still improving release after release. The last example is Opus 4.5 which is still blowing my mind.
I was able to live for a year with my SIM card in a dumb phone. But it was hard: I still have a smartphone at home on wifi for banks MFA, listening to music in offline mode while practicing sport and I had to rely on my wife's iPhone for GPS during car trips. I also had to print tickets and got as a gift a proper camera to take pictures.

]]>I've always been reluctant to use cloud-based password managers due to the inherent risks they present. Runtime password leakage vulnerabilities, costly subscription models, and vendor lock-in were all major concerns that kept me searching for alternatives.
My journey led me through various solutions. Keepass and its MacOS/iOS substitutes like KeepassXC and StrongBox synced on a Drive offered some relief, but they had limitations too. The convenience features I wanted like TouchID and FaceID integration, were always behind paywalls. While these tools worked, they never quite solved the entire problem.
As my digital life evolved, so did my requirements. I needed to share certain passwords with my wife like joint accounts, household services, etc.
Additionally, thanks to Guillaume from https://ourea.co/, I learned about an emergency access feature that allows my wife to access vital information if something were to happen to me. A feature I set up immediately.
These family-oriented features were either missing entirely from my previous solutions or implemented in ways that felt insecure or inconvenient. The fragmented approach to password management wasn't working anymore.
After extensive research, I finally found the perfect solution: VaultWarden, a lightweight implementation of Bitwarden that I could host myself on my Synology NAS.
This setup offers multiple advantages:

The Docker container installation process was well-documented, and within an hour, I had a fully functional, self-hosted password management system that ticked all my requirements.
If you're struggling with password management and have a NAS at home, I highly recommend giving this approach a try. The peace of mind from knowing exactly where your sensitive data resides is invaluable.
]]>As a mobile developer, my relationship with phones is quite unique. I actively work on Track App, a professional CRM solution, and need my phone for testing, market research, and understanding the mobile ecosystem. However, this professional usage is fundamentally different from the mindless social media scrolling and entertainment that I'm trying to reduce.
The key distinction is purpose: when I use my phone for development or Track App CRM, it's intentional, time-boxed, and productive. These professional tools are designed to enhance work efficiency, not to capture attention through addictive mechanisms like social media feeds.
While technology is essential for my work and projects, I've noticed that phone usage often leads to mindless scrolling and time waste. Unlike laptop usage which tends to be more purposeful and work-oriented, phone usage can easily slip into unproductive habits.

As a more radical solution, I'm also researching various "dumbphones" or minimalist phones. Here are some interesting options available in France:
